A forestry carbon sequestration project
At the beginning of 2025, Saint-Nicolas wanted to give meaning to its commitment by supporting a local initiative looking to the future. In line with our environmental approach, which we have pursued in particular with the Coopérative Carbone de La Rochelle, our meeting with the À Croquer« organic orchard» was an obvious choice.
With our Cosy Hotels group, Saint-Nicolas has financed a carbon contribution, with the aim of offsetting the impact of our activity as far as possible. Cosy Hotels' contribution will enable us to sequestration of nearly 30 tonnes of CO₂ over the next 30 years, at the heart of our region.
An organic orchard a few kilometres from our 4-star hotel in La Rochelle
For only 17 kilometres from Saint-Nicolas,The Verger de Longèves is a living place, designed according to the principles of permaculture. Fruit trees, aromatic and medicinal plants, edible hedges... each element finds its natural place, respecting the soil and biodiversity. This orchard promotes a sustainable alternative model.
Some of our team had the pleasure of discovering this orchard during a a time for sharing and conviviality, A hands-on, authentic immersion in nature and the people who cultivate it with passion.
